How to
Post an observation
Push the latest signed Pyth update to a pool yourself.
Why you would
The Assay service posts observations on a schedule: failing ones always, passing ones while a streak is open and every few minutes otherwise. You do not have to rely on it. If you hold cover and see a depeg, you can post the failing observation yourself; if you underwrite and see a recovery, you can post the pass.
How
- Open the pool’s page and connect your wallet.
- Press Post an observation.
- The app shows what the update will do before you sign: its class (fail, pass or inconclusive), what it does to the streak, and
dwith its box. - Approve the transaction. It costs about 0.000005 SOL.
When it is refused
| Reason | Meaning |
|---|---|
| The market is outside the sessions this pool counts | The stock is not in its regular session. |
| The observation is too old or already superseded | A newer observation has landed, or the update is stale. |
| Observations count only while the pool is covering | The window has not started, or it is over. |
