FAQ
Short answers to common questions.
Is this insurance?
It is parametric cover. It pays on a measured condition, the depeg rule, not on a claim of loss. You do not need to hold the wrapper to buy cover on it.
What currency is everything in?
USDC. Premiums, deposits, payouts and withdrawals are all USDC.
Why only during market hours?
Outside the regular session the stock does not trade, so a gap in the token’s price is a forecast of the next open, not evidence that the issuer failed. See Session time.
Why does a reading need to clear the whole confidence box?
So that price noise cannot trigger a pool, and a lucky snapshot cannot reset a real streak. See The assay.
Who posts observations?
Anyone. The Assay service posts them on a schedule, and any buyer or underwriter can post one from a pool page. See Observations.
Can the Assay service block a payout?
No. It holds no user keys and cannot move pool funds. If it stopped posting observations, anyone could post them instead, and claims are paid by the program.
Which wallets work?
Browser wallets that support the Wallet Standard and can sign Solana transactions. Hardware wallets that connect over USB are not supported.
Why did my purchase fail with “the price moved”?
The premium rose more than 1% between the quote and the moment the transaction landed, usually because someone else bought cover in between. Ask for a new quote and buy again.
Why is a pool not selling cover?
A failing streak is open, less than T is left in the week, or the pool is over. The pool page says which.
Has any pool triggered on a real depeg?
No. Every trigger so far is a TEST pool. See TEST pools.
What is the program address?
